OUTDOOR GROWING AROUND THE WORLD
The difference in seasonal changes is depended on your location, and how close to the equator you live.
The equator runs around the globe and divides the planet into a Northern Hemisphere and a Southern Hemisphere, and has a latitude of 0°.
And the two poles have a latitude of 90°.
All plants start their grow season at different times depending on their latitude.

this image is the cycle of the sun in January, you can see that there are more than twice the amount of daylight hours in the southern hemisphere compared to the far north.
This means that when you live in London or another location between latitude 50°N- 52°N you can start putting your plants outside around the end of May.
But the closer you live near the equator the earlier you can start due to the longer hours of daylight earlier in the year.
The cycle of seasons in the polar and temperate zones of one hemisphere is opposite to that in the other.
When it is summer in the Northern Hemisphere, it is winter in the Southern Hemisphere, and vice versa.
This translates to an outdoor start at the end of may in the UK, but already one month earlier in the south of Spain.
Equatorial countries like Indonesia and central africa have only 11-13 hours of daylight during both their winter and summer period.
These locations require Cannabis plants that do not need a long grow cycle.
When growing inside you are not bound by calendars and dates, you are in control and can start any day of the year.
If you are planning to grow again straight away after you harvest requires a bit of planning ahead to ensure the newly germinated seeds are ready when you are.
You can use the following chart to find out at which latitude you are living.
The three charts on the left show you three locations and the hours of daylight during their different seasons.
Ireland (latitude 54°N) has a distinct difference between the summer and winter.
Winter occurs from late december and lasts until the third week of march, and Ireland gets from 7 hours of daylight in december to more than 17 hours of daylight during the Irish summer.
Thailand (latitude 16°N) has similar hours of daylight during both the summer and winter months due to being closer to the equator.
With no less than 11, but no more than 13 hours of daylight all year round means that at this location most strains of cannabis would not be able to have a similar grow cycle as more northern areas.
Brazil (28°S) has an season that is opposite to that of northern countries, when we have our winter season the brazillians enjoy their summer.
