Sativa vs Indica
cannabis indica

BLZBud is a complex hybrid strain of G13, Silver Haze and Cheese, and a perfect example of how to breed the best of both worlds into one Cannabis strain.

The most obvious difference between Sativa and Indica strains is in the leafs.

The fingers of a Sativa leaf are very narrow and they do not touch the other fingers on the same leaf.

Indica leafs however grow wide and their fingers usually overlap each other.

This means that Indica strains can pick up more light than Sativa's do, giving them a shorter growth and flowering cycle.

Cannabis plants have been growing all over the world for centuries and have, like all other species, adapted to their new enviroments or evolved due to interbreeding.

In a nutshell you can say that Cannabis Indica originates from India (or close to India) and Cannabis Sativa is an equatorial species.

There are actually too many subspecies of the Cannabis familly to even think about mentioning them all on this website and through time researchers have added many more subspecies to differentiate the many types of Cannabis and Hemp they found.

Cannabis seeds are either a Sativa or an Indica strain, or a hybrid strain of the two.

There are two obsious differences in both species of Cannabis, these are their growth patterns and their Cannabinoid profile.

Cannabis Indica is usually a much shorter growing plant, making them more adaptable to grow inside a smaller space.

Their Cannabinoid profile makes them have more effect physical effect and are used for relaxation and meditation.

Cannabis Sativa originates from a complately different climate and likes growing in height, especially when they get a long grow cycle.

The Cannabinoid profile of Cannabis Sativa is completely different than that of their Indica counterparts, and creates a more euphoric and sometimes stimulating effect.

The Sativa strains tend to have a much higher THC level making them more interesting for medicinal practices.

Hybrid strains usually offer the best of both worlds, combining the growth patterns of an Indica strain with the Cannabinoid profile of either or both.

Popular hybrids like Jack Herer, Silver Haze and G13 have made it possible to get strong Sativa dominant hybrids that are still easy to grow indoors.
