Make sure the water stays around 20 degrees celcius during the germination process.
You can clearly see the taproots when the Cannabis seeds have germinated.

First you take any drinking glass and fill it with regular tap water, then leave it to stand untill the water reaches room temperature.
As soon as the water has reached the right temperature (around 21 degrees celcius) you can carefully place a few seeds in the water.
Some seeds will float at first but will soon sink when they have filled themselves with water.
Every day you should carefully remove around 60% of the water and re-fill it with some fresh water, make sure the fresh water is at room temperature before adding it to the water in the glass with your seeds.
Your seeds will need at least 18 hours of sufficient and un-interupted light, this could be any type of light that is not too intense, a fluorescent tube or any other regular household bulb will do the job, as long as they are reasonably close (1-6 foot) above your glass of water.
As soon as the see shell cracks the taproot will grow out of the seed.
Your seed is now called a "seedling".
You should be able to easily recognise the taproot since it is pale white, like you can see on the image on the right.
These taproots are very sensitive and will die when exposed to light too long, so you will need to remove the seedling from the glass when germinated.
The following tips will show you how to prepare your first transplant to a small pot.
Before you can transplant your seedling you need to prepare your pots and label them.
Make sure every plant/pot is individually labeled, this will create a much more organized workflow and prevent mix-up's.
I like to use 10 cm wide, square pots for my seedlings, you could use a smaller pot but I would not recommend a larger pot.
After a few days your plants will start to grow.
You should always use a bottom tray to place the pots on, these will catch and hold the excess water from your pots.
Fill the pots to about half their height with seedling soil and compress it slightly with your hand, now gently add some water without disturbing the top of the soil.
When the soil is wet you can take the seedling from the glass and place it on top of the soil.
Now you need to cover the seedling with a layer of soil, about 3 to 5 millimeters deep and gently moisten the soil with water, you should do this with a plant sprayer to prevent the top layer of soil from moving.
